In the next few days, you are to explore the best place for bird-watching in India. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, officially known as Keoladeo Ghana National Park or Keoladeo National Park, is one of the most famous bird sanctuaries in India. Its name is derived from a temple inside the park that is dedicated to Keoladeo (Lord Shiva). This artificial wetland serves as an important stopping and a breading point for migrating birds. It is declared a World Heritage Site and is home to a variety of species of birds. This park covers over 29 square kilometer of dense forest.

The main attraction of Keoladeo Park is the abundance of bird species. Over 370 different bird species have been recorded inside the sanctuary. Herons, storks, cormorants, warblers, babblers, bee-eaters and bulbuls are some of the commonly seen birds inside the park. Different land and water-birds can be seen all around the park. Migrating birds like the Siberian White Crane also visit this park during the winter season. Many ornithologists visit Keoladeo Park during the winters to study these birds.
